How it works
Everything you need to know about shifts, pay, and your portal.
How shift texts work
When a dental office needs a temp, we send you a text message with the details.
The text will include the office name, date, hours, and role.
Reply YES (or any confirmation) to request the shift. We'll confirm once you're booked.
You can also see and request open shifts directly in your portal.
Shift texts come from 778-656-0102. Please save this number so you recognize it.
Your temp portal
After registering, you'll receive a personal portal link by text.
Your portal shows your upcoming confirmed shifts and any open shifts matching your role.
From the portal you can manage your availability โ block specific dates, mark recurring days off, or pause broadcasts temporarily.
Most temps add their portal link to the home screen of their phone so they can access it like an app.
Arrival time & paid hours
Plan to arrive approximately 15 minutes early to get oriented and set up โ unless the office specifies a different arrival time.
Setup time is paid time when you are actively working.
You are paid for the hours you are working, not simply for being on-site.
If there is a patient cancellation and you leave the office or step out for coffee, you should not bill for that time.
If you would like to be paid during a cancellation gap, ask the office what you can help with โ sterilization, stocking, sharpening instruments, cleaning rooms, or other tasks are often appreciated.
How payment works
Offices pay temps directly. ASAP Dental Temps does not handle payroll.
Offices usually pay on their next regular payroll cycle (bi-weekly or semi-monthly).
You are responsible for making sure the office has the information they need to pay you.
Offices may ask for your first and last name, address, date of birth, SIN, hours worked, and agreed hourly rate.
Some offices use a payroll sheet; others may ask for an invoice. Ask the office what they prefer.
Missing payroll or payment information can delay your payment โ make sure to provide it before or on the day of your shift.

Rates
Rates vary depending on your role, experience, software knowledge, location, office type, and demand.
Our goal is to help you get booked consistently.
If your requested rate is not in line with current market expectations, we will let you know so you can adjust accordingly.
Reliability & cancellations
Reliability is essential โ offices count on you once you're confirmed.
If you need to cancel a confirmed shift, let Cassie know as soon as possible.
Last-minute cancellations create real problems for offices. Please only accept shifts you can commit to.
Consistent reliability leads to more bookings and stronger relationships with offices.
Repeat bookings & permanent hires
If an office asks you to return for additional temp days, please let ASAP Dental Temps know.
If an office discusses hiring you permanently or offers you a permanent position, you must let ASAP Dental Temps know before accepting.
Offices working with ASAP Dental Temps are under agreement with the agency and are required to notify us about repeat temp bookings and permanent placements as well.
We track repeat bookings and permanent placements for licensing, administrative, and reporting purposes.
